Management and protection plan of Snæfellsjökull National Park
The main goal of creating the plan is to ensure the continued protection of the natural and cultural heritage of the national park while enabling people to enjoy it without diminishing the conservation value of the area. Emphasis is placed on how to maintain the conservation value in harmony with local people and other stakeholders. The management and protection plan for Snæfellsjökull National Park was signed and confirmed by the minister on 24 March 2023.

An action plan is a prioritization of the actions that are planned to be carried out within the national park in the next three years. The plan is updated annually.
