History by the Shore - Walk through Djúpalón and Dritvík

Guided walk with a park ranger through the historic sites of Djúpalónssandur and Dritvík.

We begin our walk down the Nautastígur trail, passing the famous lifting stones before crossing the black pebble beach to Sessur. From there, a marked trail leads to the historic fishing cove of Dritvík, where hundreds of people once lived and worked during the fishing season.

We return along the same route, with spectacular scenery, fascinating history, and the area's unique natural surroundings accompanying us all the way.
