The ancient public trail through Búðahraun lava field is called Klettsgata. Klettsgata leads from Búðir Church to Búðaklettur via Búðahellir and on through the lava. Over the centuries, horses hooves have worn a groove in the smooth lava.

The vegetation in Búðarhraun is uniquw, and dense bracken gives the lava an exceptional appearance. Klettsgata is an interesting and easy hiking trail.
