From June 6 to September 12, park rangers will offer daily guided walks in Sn\u00e6fellsj\u00f6kull National Park. The walks are generally easy and suitable for all ages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Children\u2019s programs will be held at the National Park Visitor Centre in Hellissandur on Thursdays in July and August. During these program, rangers will lead fun educational activities and games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, weekly themed walks will take place every Wednesday in July and August, focusing on special topics or specific areas within the national park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Everyone is warmly invited to participate in our summer events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Join a park ranger for a guided walk from the Visitor Centre at Malarrif to Sval\u00fe\u00fafa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
B\u00fa\u00f0ir<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Every Monday, a park ranger meets visitors at the parking lot by B\u00fa\u00f0akirkja (B\u00fa\u00f0ir Church). Time: 1:00 PM Duration: 1\u20131.5 hours The walk goes with the ranger from B\u00fa\u00f0akirkja to Framb\u00fa\u00f0ir.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

June 20th \u2013 Nordic wildflower day \u2013 Flower walk<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
In celebration of the Nordic Wildflower Day, Sn\u00e6fellsj\u00f6kull National Park invites you to join a ranger walk around Rau\u00f0h\u00f3ll. You will explore a variety of plants and wildflowers in their natural habitat. The walk is easy and suitable for most people. It\u2019s recommended to bring water and wear comfortable walking shoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
June 25th \u2013 Birdwatching at Sval\u00fe\u00fafa<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Time: from 10:30 AM \u2013 12:00 PM<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Starting point: Sightseeing platform at Sval\u00fe\u00fafa<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meet a ranger at Sval\u00fe\u00fafa and take the opportunity to learn about the behavior and habits of the local birdlife, as well as how to identify different bird species.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
July 2nd -History by the Shore \u2013 Walk through Dj\u00fapal\u00f3n and Dritv\u00edk<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting point: The lower parking lot by Dj\u00fapal\u00f3n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A walk through the historic sites of Dj\u00fapal\u00f3nssandur and Dritv\u00edk. The walk begins down Nautast\u00edgur, past the famous lifting stones, and across the sand to Sessum. From there, we follow a marked path to the historically rich Dritv\u00edk, once home to hundreds of people during the fishing seasons. We will return the same way, enjoying stunning views, history, and nature along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
July 9th \u2013 Lava and Ocean \u2013 A Guided Nature Walk from Arnarstapi to Hellnar<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting point: The parking lot by the harbor at Arnarstapi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Experience unique landscapes on a hike along Ne\u00f0stagata, which runs through Hellnahraun along the coastline between Arnarstapi and Hellnar. Along the way, you\u2019ll witness the powerful forces of nature shaping the lava field \u2013 eroded rocks, gorges, and breathtaking views. At Arnarstapi, there\u2019s also a rare opportunity to observe puffins nesting in the cliffs. The area is a nature reserve due to the distinctive rock formations by the sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
July 16th \u2013 Life and Remains \u2013 Exploring Gufusk\u00e1lar\u2019s Heritage<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Join us for an enjoyable and historical hike through \u00cdrskrabrunn, Gufusk\u00e1lav\u00f6r, and the old fish storage sites along the lava\u2019s edge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
July 23rd \u2013 Valleys and Views \u2013 Guided Hike up Hreggnasi<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Duration: 2 hours<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Starting point: The intersection of \u00datnesvegur and Eysteinsdalsvegur<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We begin at the footbridge over M\u00f3\u00f0ul\u00e6k at the mouth of Eysteinsdalur and hike up to Hreggnasi, which rises 469 meters above sea level. The trail is mostly gentle and easy, but it becomes steeper as you approach the summit. The view from the top is breathtaking in all directions, with steep cliffs visible at the summit\u2014so caution is advised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
August 7th \u2013 Traces of Life \u2013 Nature and Settlement Walk at Eyrar<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Join us for a guided hike through Neshraun and learn about the geology of the area. The hike is relatively long, so it\u2019s a good idea to bring snacks and water.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
