A marked path leads past the lava to Vatnsborg. Caves, rocky pools and lush pockets of bracken and flowering plants abound in the lava. Vatnsborg is a bracken-filled crater encircled by crags. The trail leads on to Grash\u00f3ll then along Nesgata, an old cairned track, returning to the start along the road.
