Dj\u00fapal\u00f3nssandur is renowned for its black oval rocks, called the pearls of Dj\u00fapal\u00f3n, which the sea has polished so beautifully. In addition, there is the famous Steinat\u00f6k: four boulders of different weight which were used by men to test their strength. Fullsterkur (154 kg), H\u00e1lfsterkur (100 kg), H\u00e1lfdr\u00e6ttingur (54 kg) and Aml\u00f3\u00f0i (23 kg). <\/p>\n\n<p>The beach is dotted with iron debris, which is mostly from the English trawler Epine GY-7, which ran aground east of Dritv\u00edkurflag in March 1948.<\/p>\n\n<p>A viewing platform above Dj\u00fapal\u00f3nssandur is accessible to wheelchairs and offers a great view.<\/p>\n\n<p>Parking and toilets are up by the main road. There is a smaller parking lot by the lagoon.
