In ancient manuscripts, B\u00fa\u00f0ahraun is called Klettshraun, and the volcano in the middle of the lava field is called B\u00fa\u00f0aklettur (B\u00fa\u00f0a cliff). In reality, B\u00fa\u00f0aklettur isn&#8217;t actually a cliff but an 88m high crater from which the lava flowed around 5000\u20138000 years ago.  <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"609\" src=\"https:\/\/snaefellsjokull.vinnugrunnur.is\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/DSC09627-1024x609.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2263\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p>A hiking trail leads to Framb\u00fa\u00f0ir, where the spirit of the past lives with in the moss-grown ancient relics. From the church, it is a 30 minute walk to Framb\u00fa\u00f0ir. <\/p>\n\n<p>There is a hiking trail from the B\u00fa\u00f0ir nature reserve along the coast to Arnarstapi.
